The SENTICNEL system is a tool of defense against forest fire, a wireless alarm system that can predict the path of a growing fire. The tree-mounted sensors identify the location of a forest fire and alerts via email and SMS to the emergency services shortly after it breaks out. All the Senticnel system is integrated by, the pods, weather stations and surveillance.
Combining the sensors' real-time data with fire-growth simulation software Farsite, the system also models the path which fire is likely to take, enabling firefighters to reach it faster and address it more effectively. Among other factors, they monitor temperature, humidity, radiation and wind speed and direction.
The main new features in this new version V2 are: long life battery, better conection with all the senticnel system, better detection of the forest fire due to their improved technologies.
